Just our luck...

Hate to be a downer, but I could write a list of the things that are going wrong in regards to the move. We are almost convinced that we're cursed. We are so stressed out in general and things just keep getting worse for us, making it all that much more difficult. This weekend is the only weekend that we have for the big move and of course, it happens to be a humid 95 degrees AND our central air system has stopped working. Aside from it being very hot and miserable, we also need to have that fixed ($$$) before we sell on Friday. The kitchen faucet has started dripping and the central vacuum smells as if something's burning. I kid you not.
After a long morning of moving yesterday, I looked at the little ones and they both looked like the little boy from "Cujo" who was trapped in that hot car. I know, that's not very funny. After that though, we were out of here and off to Nana & Papa's for the night. Thankfully their house was nice and cool and Nana cooked us a nice dinner. Thanks Ma & Dad! We can always count on you! There's no place like Nana &Papa's.
I hate to complain b/c I know how very lucky we are to have finally sold and found a nice house to buy, but why are things always tougher for us? I do realize that people have it FAR worse than we do, but I am just so frustrated. I'm usually one to take things in stride, but I'm about to crack. I just want the whole thing to be done and overwith. I'm not just complaining about the weather, there are a few other things that are making us lose sleep, but I've complained enough. I knew this would all be hard, but just not like this. I'm just feeling a bit sorry for myself at the moment. It's been a few tough days. Your pity is welcome! Haha.
Here are the kids. They are oblivious to Mommy & Daddy ready to snap~thankfully.

Not living a very BLOGGABLE life...

We've been VERY busy w/ the move and really aren't doing many fun things to blog about. We did manage to get some school shopping done yesterday. Shopping is one of my least favorite things to do. I have zero patience for a picky teenager and even less for children hanging on me whining. Now, I must be getting old but WHAT IS W/ the loud music they play in all those teeny-bopper stores!!! I couldn't hear myself think! Whatever Cass found that fit, she got~I just wanted out of there. Hey, wait a minute, maybe Hollister is onto something...
Anyway, here is a pic of the kids in their new boots. They LOVE boots!

Coloring

Reilly & Caragh LOVE to color. They spend most of their days at the kitchen table drawing and coloring all sorts of things. They expect me to save every picture too! Reilly even requests how long I save hers. Some she wants saved until she's 8, some until age 10 and others just until tomorrow. If I saved them all, I'd need a room for them! I do hold onto the keepers but sadly most see the very bottom of the trash can~where I hide them. How awful, huh?
Anyway, it's such a nice, quiet activity for them. Well, quiet until Reilly becomes a bossy-pants...

A visit to the new house...

Soooo exciting!!! We are starting to move some boxes into the garage of the new house. It'll help a ton. We'll be very busy for the next 2 weeks and actually for a long time to come.
Today was the first time Cass actually went inside our soon-to-be house and on a scale of one to ten, she gave it a 6 and then changed it to a 5. Hmmm...gotta love a teenager. The little ones love the house and we finally have a nice, big yard! They had a blast running around out back and also running through the empty rooms screaming (to hear their echoes). The neighbors must be in fear of what's to come!
I am so happy about the move. It's definately bittersweet, but it's time to move on for us. The house will be great and I can really feel it being ours'. Every time I'm in there, I'm put at ease about such a huge decision. It's been a very long journey for us and it's still hard to believe it's all actually happening. I always tried to keep a positive attitude and think that what's meant to happen will happen and it really does seem like things fell right into place~just like I had hoped.

West Newfield, ME

The Maxwells invited us to join them for a weekend getaway to Rock Haven Lake. They didn't have to twist my arm! It was great to get away from the packing and piled-up boxes and put all that aside for a few days.
The Lyles and the Betts-Levines also took them up on their offer. We had such a great time~lots of fun, SO MANY laughs and the kids were mostly smiling! It was so special for them to wake up and see their cousins and to spend their days w/ them. We all cooked, ate great meals, lounged, watched the kids dance and play and somehow managed to have some meaningful conversation. It was a memorable weekend and we are hoping to get together like this a few times a year. Thanks J&J, we had so much fun!

Packing is no fun!

Sorry no pics of the kids having fun, but this is what we've been up to. We are moving at the end of the month and as much as I dread it, it's time to pack.
It isn't so bad~YET! We know what's in store for us though.

Kelsey in the HIZZLE!

My niece (& Goddaughter) Kelsey is visiting us for a couple days. She lives in NH and we don't see her nearly as much as we'd like. We are so happy she's here. We love her very much and the kids are having a blast!
